Questions for the day:

  1. God often uses the available people and resources to do incredible deeds. Have you ever witnessed a small miracle?
  2. Jesus told his disciples not to send the crowds away, saying “you feed them”. What are you being sent out to do?

School Year Backpack Program: During the school year our church provides backpacks to 200 children at Cross Lanes, Pt. Harmony and Andrew Jackson. This is food that can be prepared by a child and sent

home with children on Friday.  School takes care of paperwork…we only purchase, pack and provide to the school. Each year we come to you, the congregation, asking for funds to operate this program.  It costs approx. $100 to sponsor one child for the school year. Each year we work with Mountaineer Food Bank to keep costs to a minimum. If you would like to sponsor a child please drop your donation in the offering plate marked “Backpack Ministry.” Backpacks are packed every Tues morning at 9:00 am beginning Sept 4th.

Message from office: Kanawha Health Dept requires that copies of

all food handler licenses be on file in kitchen. So please drop off your

card or make a copy and give to Karen. (Thanks to all those who have

dropped off their licenses).

What is a blessing box? It is a miniature food pantry. The blessing box is a self-serve outreach to our neighbors. The Church Mouse with the help of ASP volunteers have built a blessing box and placed it in the lower parking lot in front of the Tyler Mountain Cross Lanes Community Services office. It is a free-standing cabinet that can be used anytime. It is up to us to keep the box filled with everyday essential such as ready to eat nonperishable items, canned goods and even toiletries & hygiene products. All items are free to our neighbors who may have a need and available 24 hours a day- 7 days a week. You are welcome to add items to the box any time. (Sundays before or after church are a great time!) May our cupboard not be bare! Suggested donations: Soups, juice boxes, snack size fruits, cereal, breakfast bars, ready to eat meats, snack crackers and cookies (think lunch box sizes). Toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, shampoo and deodorant.

College aged students (and parent's of) it's that time again. Please forward your information (even if it hasn’t changed) to Angie Bailey or Lynette Shaw at You may also send it via personal message on Facebook to either of us.
