Preschool

The Cross Lanes United Methodist Preschool has been serving the Cross Lanes and surrounding communities since the early 1970’s.  The teachers have degrees and the staff all have had background checks.  The mission of the CLUM Preschool is to further your child’s social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development through guided play and creative activities.  We offer classes for 4, 3 and 2 year-old children.  For further information please call the church office at 304-776-3081.

United Methodist Women

Prayer Shawls

Several dedicated women in our church meet to knit and crochet prayer shawls.  The shawls are dedicated and given to those who need comfort in times of hurt and suffering.  If you know someone who could benefit from receiving a prayer shawl please call the church office.  If you would like to join in making the shawls please contact the church office for the group’s meeting times.

United Methodist Men
Our United Methodist Men meet at the church for dinner and a program the second Thursday of each month at 6 p.m. The men enjoy fellowship and the opportunity to engage in service for the community.

Pastoral Care and Counseling

Our pastor is available to speak with individuals, couples, and families in times of crisis or other need. Pastor Gary is a trained pastoral counselor with a doctorate in pastoral counseling and is a Fellow in the American Association of Pastoral Counselors. Although he does not do long-term counseling he can help point folks in the right direction if more help is needed for mental health or other concerns.

Pastor Gary has a long history working with teens struggling with depression and related illnesses.  His book on teen depression,  A Relentless Hope: Surviving the Storm of Teen Depression has opened the door for him to become a national speaker on the topic. He is available to speak at your school, club, church, professional gathering or other group free of charge.  Visit his website for more information.

Cross Lanes UMC Community Concert Series

We have recently begun a concert series that will continue once a month on Sunday evenings in the future.  We are inviting a wide range of musical artists to come and share their talents.  The concerts are free of charge and open to everyone.   A love offering is received for the musicians and singers at each concert.  If you have ideas for possible performers please contact Pastor Gary or Mark Calfee.  The dates for the remaining concerts in 2013 are: May 19th, September 29th, and October 30th.  All the concerts are held in the church sanctuary and begin at 7 p.m.
